With the release of the WiiU only days away, I began thinking what the best uses of the WiiU gamepad might be. In what way can the WiiU change the way we play? It's a question Nintendo has tried answering for over a year now. Though not all of these are necessarily changing the entire way we play, I do believe they are some of the best applications/possibilities the WiiU gamepad holds.

    Neat improvements/features:
    - Keyboard (No more in game typing using a controller)
    - Can scan credit card information just by placing ...

    Mass Effect Characters

To an outsider, picking 10 of the best characters from a 2-game series may seem trivial. Ask any Mass Effect veteran however, and they will tell you otherwise. The sheer amount of well developed characters in the Mass Effect series makes us wonder, does Mass Effect have the “best” characters in gaming? While the question will lead to opinionated answers, the fact that the question is often asked is testament enough to the quality of those very characters. Without further ado, I give you LAG’s Top 10 Mass Effect characters.*Note: As ...

This is my list of the Top Ten Free Massively Multiplayer Online Role Playing Games! This was really hard to compile as there are loads out there and if you feel that one has been left out, reply in the comments. There are plenty of games to choose from and just about any one of them could have made this list.

The Legend of Zelda is one of the most respected franchises in video game history. With Skyward Sword having just been released, it’s the perfect time to figure out where each title stands. That being said, it won’t be considered in this list as it is too fresh in our mind. While there are a few poorly made non-Nintendo Zelda games, they are hardly considered in a Zelda discussion. Those made by Nintendo are often incredibly enjoyable. With Skyward Sword’s release in 2011, it marks 25 years of Zelda game releases. With that said, lets find ...

New Series of the Current Console Generation

The video game industry is flooded by long running sequels. It takes only one look at the Wii’s library to realize great intellectual properties are a rare sight to see. That is why this week’s top ten focuses on those series that only just began this generation. It doesn’t have to be entirely original, but it cannot be an extension of a series from previous generations. That basically means Mario Galaxy and Modern Warfare does not count as “new”. The series can be on Wii, PS3, Xbox 360, and PC, but ...

    Cooperative Games of All Time

It’s no secret, multiplayer games dominate the video game market. Call of Duty, Battlefield, Madden, and World of Warcraft to name a few. Despite the amount of multiplayer games there are, only a handful can be called great co-operative games. Whether they’re games built for co-op games or it’s a mode added on, they are simply a blast to play with friends.

That being said, there’s a few genres that are great for “co-op” but just don’t fit for this list. This includes

    Silent Protagonists

Silent protagonists are video game heroes who never speak. Whether or not they make noises, perform actions, or are completely void of any expression, they are all silent protagonists, so long as they do not speak words. Despite being unable to speak, some of them have plenty of personality, while others succeed in forming a connection between the player and the character/game. This list names the top 10 silent protagonists, whether they found their way to the top 10 through charm or effectiveness

This list may seem specific and arbitrary but give me a chance to explain. It is simply the
10 video gamecharacters that underwent the biggest change to become badasses in sequels/prequels that followed(not within the same game). In many of these cases the character becomes way cooler, in others, the character change is for the worse. Regardless of where they fall in the list, all 10 of these characters were made into badasses in the games that followed their debut. This can be in their appearance, personality, or both. This list ...

    Most Annoying Characters

There are many memorable video game characters that people absolutely love. Mario, Snake, Drake, Kratos, etc. For every good character, there’s just as many annoying ones. These are the characters that annoy you either based on their personality, appearance, abilities, or even just because they are incredibly frustrating. Whatever the reason, these are the 10 most annoying video game characters I’ve dealt with.
