In a recent interview with the French website Ecrans, Rockstar vice president Dan Houser was asked if the Grand Theft Auto series would ever take a science fiction take on GTA. Houser stated that the studio wouldn't be taking the series into the future unless there were "good reason" to.

“One of our strengths is the consistency of the game world. We’re not necessarily the best writers in the world, but we know how to write a video game." House continued. "We have no interest in going into science fiction for ...

California senator Leland Yee, who last week during an interview concerning media violence with the San Francisco Chronicle told gamers to "just quiet down", has issued an apology (of sorts) on Twitter.

“Gamers, I admittedly didn’t use best words to [the San Francisco Chronicle],” he said. “I meant video game industry has inherent conflict of interest in the gun violence debate.”

Not content to leave his statement as just an apology, Yee did not pass up the opportunity to attack the game industry once more, ...

There was a time, not so long ago, that The Prince of Persia was considered to be one of the hottest franchises available. After being rebooted in 2003 the action series spawned ten follow-up titles across multiple platforms, but recently the Prince has been eclipsed by other Ubisoft titles, most notably by Assassin’s Creed. Now in a recent interview with IGN, Ubisoft Montreal CEO Yannis Mallat went on record stating, “I think it is fair to say that, right now, Prince of Persia is being paused.”

It has been three years since the ...

While there is no confirmation that this is indeed a teaser for the latest game in the God of War Franchise, there are a number of things that make it pretty darn obvious. First, the woman featured is wearing fairly typical clothing of the "Classical Era" ...

The patch notes set the scene for the soon-to-be-released expansion:

News was confirmed today that Junction Point Studios, the creator of the Epic Mickey series, is closing its doors. The closure, while distressing, was not entirely unexpected as sales of Epic Mickey 2: The Power of Two were less than impressive.

Disney said to Gamasutra, “It was with much sadness that we informed our team today of changes to our Games organization, which include the closure of Junction Point Studios. These changes are part of our ongoing effort to address the fast-evolving gaming platforms and marketplace and ...

Funcom has just announced a competition for fans of its MMO The Secret World to submit their own music to the developer's website, with the lucky winner having their track featured in-game.

“There are a lot of talented and dedicated people in the community, and we are lucky to have a game like The Secret World where their music can fit in perfectly,” said Funcom audio director Simon Poole. “We already have many artists contributing with their music to the game, and to now give players the opportunity to let their music sound ...
